Just what I needed <---not sarcasm!

Today has been amazing and it's only 2:20! I was kind-of dragging this morning since I stayed up to almost 3 a.m. so I could talk to Jack-a-bee on Skype for a little bit (it was worth it though!). It's nice to see faces from home if only through a computer screen. I'm not one to get homesick but I do miss EVERYONE, especially my fabulous fam fam and all their hugs (Daddy, I think my hug low level light is on). So I'm sending out a cyber *HUUUUUUUG* to all, and I hope it's sufficient until I get back!

I got just a teeeeeeeeny bit emotional on the bus ride to the orphanage today because I couldn't stop thinking about my lesson plans and how I'm going to pluck up enough courage to teach next week. I just got a little too anxious and literally had to calm myself down by praying. I asked God to speak for me when I don't know the words, understand for me when I get confused, breath DEAPLY for me when I get frustrated, and mainly just take over when I get overwhelmed because I realized that there is NO way that I can do this without the strength only He can give me. I am not completely worry-free or calm as a cucumber, but I have been able to focus on other things and breath a little bit easier.

Okay so here's the REALLY good part (are you listening mom and dad??!) (heheheh)... drum roll please... I got an e-mail from Grand Valley saying that I've been selected to receive the Career Services Internship Award! It's a scholarship I applied to a few weeks before I left and I had forgotten about it until now because I never really expect to win anything. This was JUST what I needed to give me a little extra reassurance and motivation to really make the most of this experience and really just go for it. I had a lot of stress and trouble putting this program together but now I feel like my university believes in me and has my back lol ...I know I know... corny as chicken feed, but that's what I'm feeling and this blog is to record ALL my adventures from the physical to the spiritual so there ya go!

I'm off to Fes in a few minutes so I gotta lock up my stuff and grab a taxi!!
I'll be staying at  Riad Dar Skalli for two nights!

TTFN!

  4. You go, girl. Some folks think they've just been 'unlucky in life,' if opportunities pass them by. But I think you'll find a lot of the good things that happen to come your way in life will arise largely because of something you've done -- so keep going out of your way to make things happen; you'll find surprising tangents spring off from those things. A personalized 'Butterfly Effect', ya know?
